The Price of Power (1969)
Italian manager Tonino Valerii recreates a fistful of JFK conspiracy theories in Western configurations with this eccentric look in the assassination of President James Garfield at 1890 Dallas. Grantedthe assassination actually happened in Washington in 1881, however Valerii and screenwriter Massimo Patrizi do not allow their allegory be destroyed by details. Anyhow, it is a well-made movie, with cinematography by Stelvio Massi plus a suitably stentorian soundtrack by Luis Enrique Bacalov, but its allure is likely confined to lovers of Euro-oaters. Giuliano Gemma, Fernando Rey, and Van Johnson star, whilst celebrity fans will recognize specialists Frank Brana and Antonio Casas.

Also Known As (AKA): Il prezzo del potere, Dallas Story, La muerte de un presidente, Texas, Ringo y el precio del poder, O Preço do Poder, The Price of Honor, Blutiges Blei
