Pinion’s third video, WE AWAIT, was set in San Fransisco’s Mission district, and locates its action with the psychic and social confines of a family of cannibals who are slowly possessed by a sentient psychoactive green fungus. Far darker than its predecessors, WE AWAIT re-iterates Pinion’s fascination with mytho-poetic thematics, most clearly manifested when the family undertakes a “spirit-drive” – a psychedelic journey in which they come face to face with a gigantic blood-smothered grimacing Jesus.
