NOA NOA – Survivors of the Bounty is the very unofficial sequel to MUTINY ON THE BOUNTY depicting the events that occur afterwards. Fletcher Christian and the remaining crew of the bounty land on an uninhabited tropical island paradise along with a group of dark skinned native Polynesian companions who have decided to travel with them. No sooner have they arrived but one of the bounties crew accidentally guns down one of the natives. Initially they offer him up for justice but decide he should not be punished then the white men take the hot native women (who are topless the entire film) as monogamous brides for themselves sparking on-going racial tensions that will beset island life as the natives feel that women should be communally shared.
They build an island village and initially everything is a idyll of sunlight interracial sex then it begins to get ugly when the white men decide to divide the island into farm plots and ‘share’ their food with the natives if they work on their fields for them.
When one of the white mutineers finds his native woman lying with another he viciously beats her as punishment further increasing tensions within the group and when the ship is set ablaze the men realise that they are now marooned, frustrated prisoners of the island paradise.
When one of the white mutineers native women accidentally falls to her death on the rocks (in an shockingly gory moment) he demands another ‘bride’ from the natives women which causes an irreparable divide in the group as relations worsen.
The interracial tensions between the groups finally explode in a (gory) violent massacre.
This is a great forgotten Italian exploitation film and has probably fallen into obscurity of because the films dodgy themes – most of the white mutineers from the Bounty are extremely sexist and quite racist.
