An ex-cop who’s currently a private detective is hired by a woman to function as go-between in regaining a significant envelope from her spouse. The detective gets the spouse visit his apartment to give him the envelope, but a person sneaks into his flat and strangles her while the detective is in a different area. Fearful that the authorities will suspect him of the murder, he attracts the girl’s body back to her apartment, but the authorities find out and suspect him of the murder anyhow. He has to find out who’s framing him for the murder and , before the authorities catch him.
