A naive young man is operating on a logging camp with a tumultuous river. If it closes for winter, he opts to stay for the experience. He meets a girl who had been the girlfriend into the manager of this outfit, recently locked up for murder. This worldly lady along with the innocent boy locate a potent fascination, which builds to a violent climax.
