Throughout the years, various guests stay at the room with the piano of an old hotel and their lives change there for better or more often for worse. Surgeon Victor meets his mistress Eva there regularly. Nina and Goga are a young lesbian couple, who must keep their relationship secret, so they only meet on occasion, despite having this relationship since their teen years. This might be their last meeting. Another guest is a businessman, who secretly enjoys wearing women’s clothes. Turkish father and son, who work as truck drivers and smugglers, also always stay in that room, when they need a place to sleep during their long routes. Petar and Marta stay there as a newlywed couple full of joy and hope, and then return there to mark their 10th wedding anniversary, but they are pale shadows of their former selves now. Broken man Dize, once a pianist, whose life and career were forever ruined in that room, returns to find some money he stashed there long ago, but things don’t go as planned. The maid is the silent witness of all these events and comments on them in her correspondence with her mother. The guests come and go, but the maid and the hotel manager are always there to keep the place running. Their lives are eventually changed as well.
