A 12-year-old boy from America experiences the clash of cultures and the generation gap when he visits his grandfather in Shanghai. Wu Ma is Ku, a retired musician whose life is unexciting but inherently satisfying. But Ku’s world is about to be torn apart by the arrival of his grandson (Huang Kun Hsuan), an English-speaking, skateboard-sporting, gum-chewing kid who simply does not understand the differences between his grandfather and him. Immediately, the two get off on the wrong foot, and Ku soon realizes that his grandson has neither the patience nor the inclination to grow accustomed to his new home. Can an accord ever be reached between these innately different, yet blood-related individuals?
