How far can one person go to try and reclaim what they have lost? That’s the question posed by Nicolae Margineanu’s EXCHANGE. When Emil and his wife lose their jobs, they decide to move to Australia and sell everything they have to fund their move. Things take a turn for the worst, however, when a Bucharest con man makes off with their savings. Left with nothing, Emil is forced to navigate a sea of poverty and crime to try and make a life for him and his family. EXCHANGE takes a close look at the lives of Romanian citizens living within a struggling economy, and is an outstanding drama, a life lesson that even the most honest people can change the principles of social backgrounds.
