Stefano, the son of a wealthy businessman, meets a gorgeous woman called Lidia while accompanying his father to a meeting using a cardinal. He chased her through the streets of Venice and a romance develops. Upon returning from an overseas business trip, he’s advised that Lidia was killed in an crash. Shortly afterwards, he believes he recognizes her in a construction site, but the girl claims to be a reporter who’s clearly involved with gangsters. What’s more, all evidence of Lidia’s passing has been obliterated. Stefano continues to look into the mystery, discovering family intrigues.
