Nebraska Clay kills a gang of outlaws in self-defense but is imprisoned for further investigation of the crime. While in jail he meets an outlaw named “Madman” and escapes with him when his gang carries out a jailbreak. Together, they go after a box full of gold hidden in the monastery of St. Virginia. But the sheriff goes after them and vows not to give up until he catches all of them.
