Un riche collectionneur japonais propose a Edith, dame du grand monde, de lui donner l’argent qu’elle a detourne, produit d’une vente de charite, a l’unique condition qu’elle se donne a lui. Malgre sa repugnance, Edith accepte. Mais elle regagne au jeu la somme escroquee… Ce film est un remake du film de Cecil B. Whilst her husband, the engineer Pierre Moret, is engaged on construction projects, Denise occupies herself with charity work in the Chinese town that has become her home.
