Marge is a competent secretary, but her managers are more enthusiastic about her abilities. This causes her to become regularly unemployed. To have work, she alters her appearance to make herself unattractive. This gets her job with a writer called Freddy, with a deadline quickly approaching for his new publication. Regrettably, Freddy takes every chance to not operate on the publication and even drops for Marge if he sees her because she actually looks. But while the gruesome secretary, he hardly notices her and she tries everything for him to finish his book in time.
