Paul, a Mountie, has been expelled from Fort Calgary for having an affair with the Major’s fiancée. While on his way to his new post, he meets Valerie, a young woman whose carriege is stuck in a river. Once at the fort he finds out that Valerie is Inspector Bedford’s fiancée, but he keeps seeing her anyway. One day, while on patrol, Paul sees how some settlers kill a few Indians. After making a report, other Mounties go after the murderers while Paul is placed under arrest by the jealous Inspector Bedford. Meanwhile, the Indians led by Chief Brown Bear want to avenge their dead braves and they start a war against the settlers.
