A vivid slice-of-life depiction of migrant workers, both male and female, wasting their lives away through monotonous labor in small, thriving garment workshops in a neon-lit provincial Chinese city in hopes of coming closer to achieving the so-called “Chinese Dream” as their country ascends to global supremacy. Some of the protagonists find their new life in the city to be an improvement, while others face disillusionment.
