In a game of hide-and-seek with his wife, Mao suddenly decides to leave home. He moves in with Xiao Ri, an acquaintance living in the small town of Liaocheng and the two of them embark on a routine of weird amorous encounters. Mao questions all of his former life and tries to establish a kind of family with his friend. But there is no logical explanation for the strange behavior of both men.
