The Iron Guard, also called Legion of Archangel Michael, was a Romanian nationalist and patriotic motion of intense appropriate; as such, when it climbed into power, it encouraged Nazi Germany and began a ferocious campaign of retaliation against its political opponents. Therefore, at the night of November 26-27, 1940, the Death Teams implemented forty political prisoners from the Jilava prison (from the film, called”Viraga”), and following day, additional two Teams detained and taken at the former minister Virgil Madgearu along with the world renowned historian Nicolae Iorga (from the film: Costin Märgeanu and Nicolae Jugu). To squash the political outcry, the Police Prefect Stefan Zävoianu (Visan Nävodeanu) conveniently assigns the cases to a commissioner in the”Morals Division” (prostitution( thieves), Tudor Moldovan, trusting he will fail to get into the base of the situation. But, Moldovan has communist sympathies, so that he immediately comes under the impact of the Bolshevik Pîrvu, who’d escaped through the Viraga…
