He summer of 1942 attracted Naval stalemate into the Pacific since the Japanese and American fleets stood even numbers each waiting for another to start a renewed offensive. “Midway” tells the story of the historical June struggle where a Japanese carrier force, in an effort to occupy Midway island and lure the American fleet to destruction, was match valiently by US forces working from three aircraft carriers and several escort ships. This was the very first conflict where naval air power was extensivly utilized, and in its conclusion that the Japanese Carrier force was completly ruined which direct the way for the US 1943 and 44 offensives that would finally attract the Pacific War to a close.
