Can you find peace in this lifetime, asks one character in a wake; is there an act of liberty within this contemporary lifestyle, asks another person. Goldman’s much-despised dad has expired; his buddies Caesar and Israel set off to the funeral. They overlook it, however, visit Goldman’s home afterwards. Caesar has girls problems: his son by an earlier union is sick; he has guaranteed marriage to two girls of opposite character. Israel has a girlfriend whom he is cold and hot. Goldman’s mom is living before. Friendship, family, love, and memories might not ultimately aid characters find freedom or peace.
