Jacinto Pereira Lopes is manager of a major economic and financial group, which the State returned to its former owner. Jacinto is married to Rosa, a poor but ambitious woman, but never forgot Fatima, a beautiful and brilliant daughter of the family. To save your company, Fatima needs information on the activities of the head of Jacinto and no doubt rekindle the old flame. Jacinto tries to resist pressures in an atmosphere of family chaos, in which his wife encouraged him to be ambitious and cheating on him with other men. Feeling betrayed and used by everyone Jacinto decides to take matters into their own hands, starting to play with the same rules as others.

We wanted to make a film about a teenage mother. We met Joana in a casting that took place in Setubal, in the Bela Vista neighborhood. She appeared to us as a porcelain doll, small, fragile, pale, with a little hair bow. Little by little, she crumbled apart, revealing a charming complexity. We were conquered by the duality of strength and fragility, freedom and incarceration, joy and sorrow. The intimacy and complicity we were able to establish with her made this film possible. In Cat’s Cradle, we share her with everyone else.
193 days have passed since Alice was seen for the last time. Every day Mário, her father, leaves home to repeat exactly the same steps he took on the day Alice disappeared. Obsessed with tracking her down he installs several video cameras to record the movement on the streets. In the middle of all those faces, of that anonymous crowd, Mário seeks a clue, a trace, a sign…The shattering grief caused by Alice’s absence turned Mário into a different person but this wilful and tragic quest is perhaps the only way he has to believe that one day Alice will reappear.

Eastern European newcomers give new business perspectives that are going to rock their small world by the beach: Cova do Vapor. A chaotic neighborhood of precarious housing located at Lisbon’s gates, where the Tagus River meets the Atlantic, where fishermen and retired factory workers coexist. An obscure little place, where everything suddenly changes, even the weather. After a violent storm, the gangster’s house gets a rusted fishing boat hanging on top of their home.
