U.S. Air Force Captain John Merrill, an unlikeable Korean War bomber pilot, ho together with co-pilot Paul Kenkins (Bill Williams) take off from Okinawa to bomb a strategic bridge over the Yalu River. They accomplish their mission , and return to base and crash-lands on an empty tank.
