Tokyo, February 9th, 1969. Kaoru is a high school graduate from a rich family. His brothers are all law graduates of the prestigious University of Tokyo, so he is expected to follow that path as well. But the University of Tokyo cancels its February admission exams and takes no new students for 1969, in the aftermath of the year-long violent student protests. Without that incident Kaoru would have lived a smooth life already mapped out for him. This setback forces Kaoru to make a decision about his future on this quiet Sunday.
