But the Russian world champ beats Tommy Rosemund’s masterwork in a televised match. So the West German mathematician becomes a top chess pro himself, which the West German media boast will prove the superiority of Germany and democracy. The jowly, white-faced Rosemund believes that the entire Red Communist bloc is out to stop him from vanquishing their atheist pretty boy, Stefan Koruga, to become the next Bobby Fischer and a symbol that ruthless capitalism is preferable to socialism.

A bankruptcy has consequences. The perpetrator, Kallweit, takes the trading agent Höllbrock as hostage and curse car driver on the flight. Freidahl, who is guilty of being guilty, can pursue her, and the perpetrator has to leave the prey some time.
Because Freidahl wants to tear it himself, he makes some false statements against his colleagues, claiming, for example, that they were two perpetrators. But also Kallweit wants to have “his” prey again and also Handelsvertreter Höllbrock is still pulled into the mess. But Commissioner Finke is gradually coming to doubt the story of the police officer…

A soldier from Earth crash-lands on an alien world after sustaining battle damage. Eventually he encounters another survivor, but from the enemy species he was fighting; they band together to survive on this hostile world. In the end the human finds himself caring for his enemy in a completely unexpected way.

Simply a masterpiece, and due primarily to the masterful FX on Lou Gossett and his inspired, magnificent performance. Most sci-fi fans have never heard of this one, but I’ve found very few who have seen it who weren’t impressed.

This film is a perfect example of how totally bankrupt the film awards (every one of them) really are. Gossett should have walked away with Best Actor on this one, hands down, yet I doubt this film garnered even a single nomination.
