As soon as he sees her for the first time, Mike Samson, the big man on his southern California beach and the object of desire of any girl on the beach, knows that he wants Delilah Dawes, who is in the area visiting their mutual friend, Pebbles. Despite Pebbles’ assertions that Mike is a great guy, Delilah finds him arrogant and conceited, and flatly rejects his advances. After receiving a series of messages from outer space all decoded to be “Mars Needs Women”, the United States Decoding Center in Houston receives a visit from Dop, the leader of a group of five Martians on an experimental voyage to Earth. Midvale College is in fear of losing its college football team. The players have grades lower than the norm. Judge Holmesby, the team’s biggest fan, is at a loss for what to do. Enter Merlin Jones, a bright college student, and his nephew Stanley, an intelligent chimpanzee. The judge wants Merlin to create an “honest way to cheat”. Merlin uses “sleep learning” to help the players pass their exams. This saves the college football program from being banished, but not for long…the college is tempted to receive a $1 million dollar check from a Mr. Astorbilt. A beach movie. A scroll is stolen from an art gallery and taken to Catalina Island, where the thieves plan to use it to swindle Lakopolous, a Greek art collector. They plan to show him the real scroll, then deliver a fake. Lakopolous, however, turns out not to be rock-stupid, and tries to steal the scroll himself. Meanwhile, the thieves’ son figures out what his folks are up to and cooks up an improbable scheme that will allow him to steal the scroll back and return it. During this, the whole troupe are under surveillance from a mysterious guy who keeps pulling prat falls.
