In Dakota territory in the 1870s, White Bull, a young Sioux, proves his manhood by catching and training a wild colt he names Tonka. When a cruel cousin claims the horse as the privilege of rank, White Bull lets Tonka go. The horse ends up in the hands of a captain in the US cavalry about the time that Sitting Bull gathers the tribes to confront the growing US presence, epitomized by the bigoted General Custer. All paths, including those of White Bull and Tonka, lead to the confluence of the Little and Big Horn rivers.

While searching, they rescue one of the plane’s passengers, Katherine Shelley, who’s been captured by headhunters. Johnson now appears on the scene. Shelley guides him, Singleton, and the others to the underwater crash site. The gold is removed from the plane and now various schemes emerge as each man tries to gain control of it.

Merle Kramer works as a stenographer for a psychiatrist. She is casually dating Karl Benson, a private eye and former cop. When the wife is found murdered in a manner identical to that of her husband’s dream, the husband is naturally the prime suspect.
