Sally Goodson (Kirstie Alley) has been raising her autistic son David (Michael A. Goorjian) alone since her husband left many years ago. Now a social worker discovers that Sally has been dodging “The System” to keep her son with her, instead of putting him in an institution. Each feels they know what’s best for David. But their opinions are not the same. Sally’s developing relationship with John Nils (Sam Waterston) is caught in the middle.

Mark (John Larroquette) and Jessie (Kirstie Alley) get blindsided by an unexpected visit from Mark’s cousin, Fred (John Diehl), and his pregnant wife, Bernice (Jessica Lundy). The family reunion is suddenly extended from five days to six months after an accident renders Bernice bedridden, and Mark and Jessie’s life is slowly turned upside down by a seemingly never-ending stream of house guests, including Jessie’s neurotic sister (Alison La Placa) and her obnoxious son (Bradley Gregg).

This was one hilarious movie to begin the 90’s. I’ve always been a fan of John Larroquette since he appeared on Night Court. This movie rocks! And I was just a pre-teen kid when I saw this in the theater, and it’s still funny to me now that I’m an adult!

It’s about John Larroquette and Kirsty Alley playing these yuppies who have some relatives visiting, and then before we know it, practically the whole neighborhood becomes their houseguests! Also the news interviews were amusing, too!

So, if you’re in a mood for a screwball comedy from this past decade, you’re in for a ride with this one! I highly recommend it!
