Sad sack Dustin Willoughby is a true believer in the power of astrology. His adherence to the forecasts of his horoscope has alienated his fiancée and cost him his job at the bank. Wellington Holmes, a timid and very shy horticulturist, heads for Big Bluff. When the stagecoach is held up by Buckskin Bill and his men, he coincidentally knocks out three of them earning himself the unwanted job, as Marshall of Big Bluff. After escaping Big Bluff, disguised as a woman, the stagecoach is again held up by Buckskin and he, Elena Montoya and her father are made prisoners. He escapes again and when Buckskin arrives in town he again coincidentally overpowers the criminals. Having been previously masked, Buckskin now claims to be Buckskin’s enemy and the residents of Big Bluff believe him. They release him and offer him the reward for leading Wellington to Buckskin’s hideout. So Wellington and Elena with the ransom money for her father, but no posse, head out to bring in Buckskin. The law is kept & all of the criminals are successfully captured, brought to the county’s prison and are put behind bars.

Winnie Lightner is the head of a health clinic and has Joe E. Brown as one of her employees. Brown is a wrestler named JoJo and he is forced to enter the ring and face down a musclebound masked opponent (Frank S. Hagney). Making matters worse, the masked marauder is convinced that his wife has been fooling around with JoJo. JoJo is knocked out early in the proceedings, whereupon he dreams he’s a sultan surrounded by harem girls. A romantic subplot involves Paul Gregory and Claudia Dell. Gregory works for Dell’s father and Dell asks her father to give Gregory a promotion so that she can spend more time with him. When Gregory refuses to be promoted without earning the position, she threatens to have him fired and Gregory quits his job. Gregory attempts to start a new career as a championship wrestler and is trained by Lightner and Brown. When Dell finds out about this, she attempts to stop him and asks for his forgiveness. She pleads with him to not fight but he has already promised…

A film about another American fad of the 30s. Small-town bumpkin Winfred Simpson is annoyed by the attention paid to his girl, Phyllis Jenkins, by a hotshot trick cyclist, Harry St. Clair, breezing through and impressing the locals on a personal appearance tour at the town theatre. When Phyllis turns Winfred down, he hits the road to become a success at the big 6-Day bike race. He meets Clinton Hemmings and they become partners as it is a two-man event, and get practice time for the race by getting jobs as bicycle messengers. Winfred, delivering a message to St. Clair at his hotel, mistakes a voice he hears in St. Clair’s room as Phyllis, gets into a fight with him and hauled off to the pokey. The race starts without him, with Clinton riding alone. Finally getting released from jail, Winfred races on a “borrowed” bike to the “Velodrome” and enters the race just in time.
