Newlyweds Ned and Vicki Bliss have a fight and Vicki leaves saying that she is going home to Mom and Dad and that Ned will never see her again! When Vicki doesn’t return the next day, Ned figures there was more truth to her statement. Ned decides to visit her parents whom he had never met. When Ned reaches their home he is greeted with the news that Vicki is not there. What Ned doesn’t know is Mary and Will Alden are not Vicki’s parents but impostors. Ned notices Vicki’s parents are unaware of any of the details that Vicki had shared with him of them and her childhood and Ned’s suspicion begins. The parents are eager to get Ned out of the house and back on the road to find his wife and their daughter but Ned comes up with one delay after another to allow him time to do a little investigating of her parents.

Young writer Richard Collier is met on the opening night of his first play by an old lady who begs him to “Come back to me”. Mystified, he tries to find out about her, and learns that she is a famous stage actress from the early 1900s, Elise McKenna. Becoming more and more obsessed with her, he manages, by self hypnosis, to travel back in time where he meets her. They fall in love, a matching that is not appreciated by her manager. Can their love outlast the immense problems caused by their “time” difference? And can Richard remain in a time that is not his?

There are those few movies that make you sit back and just be amazed at the artistic excellence you’ve just seen. Citizen Kane, Casablanca, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Star Wars, The Godfather, Ben Hur, and The Lord of the Rings trilogy are a few of these. Somewhere In Time is not a blockbuster actioner, but is perhaps the finest fantasy love story ever made.

The cast is perfect. Christopher Reeve is extremely believable. Jane Seymour is gorgeous as the young actress, as is Teresa Wright as her older self. Christopher Plummer is great as Elise McKenna’s manager, and Bill Erwin affords himself fine as Arthur. The setting, music, story, and acting are all top notch! We are slowly drawn (and it’s just great to take one’s time to get involved) into this mysterious romance as the paradox pair of the watch and the time travel gets our hero to “come back to me.”

Simply Superb! If you are one of the very few who has not seen this movie, please get it and watch it one time. I’ve seen it at least 10 times and enjoy it as much each time.

The small island resort town of Amity is trying to bounce back from the financial troubles that suffered after becoming known as the site of shark attacks four years earlier. Mayor Larry Vaughn is welcoming developer Len Peterson and his new resort to Amity. Two scuba divers are exploring the area where the Orca sank after police chief Martin Brody killed a huge shark four years ago. A shark shows up and devoured the two divers, but not before one of the divers takes a close-up picture of the shark’s eye, and sometime later, while a mother is driving a boat that’s pulling her water-skiing teenage daughter, the shark devours the daughter and causes the mother to accidentally blow up the boat, then a killer whale is found on the shore with a huge bites on it. After Brody sees this, he knows there’s another huge great white shark in Amity’s waters, but Vaughn and Peterson explain these attacks away as non-shark accidents, because the thought of another shark in Amity’s waters would drive…
