A woman is badly shaken when she is run off the freeway and nearly killed by a crazy van-driver. Her story is not taken too seriously by TV or the police – until another woman is killed in similar circumstances, also by a dark van. The police seem to have no leads, so a TV reporter starts investigating the similarities between the cases. As the deaths mount, she takes hazard-driving lessons. When she finally locates the driver’s whereabouts, he’s missing, but chases her onto the freeway…

Bandit (Brian Bloom), a man’s man who enjoys driving his fast car and living the free-and-easy life and occasional interludes with fast women, gets an unexpected and unwelcome visit from his eccentric Uncle Cyrus. After stealing Bandit’s car keys, Cyrus takes Bandit on a wild ride to a job appointment that Bandit had set up where a pretty assistant tells Bandit that the appointment is cancelled. (The assistant later turns out to be bogus as she’s really an associate of Cyrus. Uncle Cyrus also tells Bandit that he’s married a fabulous young lady named Angel (Tracy Lords), and that she is helping him run his carnival. Later that day, at a barbecue, Bandit learns that Cyrus has died of a heart attack. Although Angel inherits the carnival while Bandit gets nothing, Angel begs him to take it over. When Bandit learns that loan sharks and his arch-enemy Sheriff Buddy Clanton have joined forces to close and/or take over the carnival, Bandit agrees to get involved. Bandit gets the hardy and willing carnival crew — including the aforementioned assistant and a lovely contortionist — involved in a bunch of stunts and chases aimed at getting the carnival moved beyond the Sheriff’s jurisdiction until Bandit can get the goods on the bad guys and save the day.

This comedy film brings Burt Reynolds, Roger Moore, Farrah Fawcett, Dom DeLuise, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr. and an all-star cast to the starting line of the ultimate auto race, a madcap cross-country scramble that roars full-speed ahead. This action-comedy was inspired by an actual event: the Cannonball Baker Sea-To-Shining-Sea Memorial Trophy Dash, an anything goes, all-stops-out – and very much illegal – competition that has grown to legendary proportions within the last ten years.
Captain Chaos, The Rat Pack, Terry Bradshaw and Mel Tillis! Burt, Roger Moore, and Mr…um…Foyt! Some say this isn’t a masterpiece, there are no digital effects or Oscar nominated performances. Please! It’s just fun watching some of the greats who have passed on and some others who were in their prime having a blast doing a movie that makes little sense and that’s just the way I like it. I promise you will laugh and you won’t know why, but you won’t care! Great movie for anyone who wants to have a beer with his friends and watch a funny, pointless, silly movie. Unfortunately, I also recommend Peter Jackson’s King Kong for the same reasons.

“Cactus” Jack Slade (Kirk Douglas) is the meanest bad man in the west, or so he thinks. When a bank robbery goes awry, he lands in jail facing a hangman’s noose.
