A crew of construction workers starts destroying a distant ancient film production factory, regarded as an eye sore. They burn left-over reels of old unrecognised films. Manô, an unknown and unremembered film character from the cinema popular in the forties, narrowly escapes extinction and mysteriously projects himself from a piece of celluloid film into the real world. Being a black and white mute film character, and unaware of the new Portugal that awaits him, this hilarious comical character will try to adapt and survive in the new world that surrounds him in the capital of Lisbon.
