This meditative, sometimes violent pseudodocumentary examines the effect of toxic waste dumping on America’s landscape and its psyche. Forevermore takes a free-form, diaristic path, combining dreams, memories, scientific documentation and mad visions to address the shady politics of waste management.

The film follows Isaac Hudak, a displaced aerospace worker and small-time waste disposal entrepreneur, wrestling with his alienation from society and trying to reckon with the heinous deeds he has committed. The story is told through a web of voiceovers, reference texts, popular media sources and diary entries.

Peopled with tattooed faces, shadowy fathers and anonymous scientists, Forevermore’s dreamy, symbolic atmosphere provides a visual counterpoint to its noir narrative voice. Far from the traditional earnestness of environmentally conscious films, Forevermore is a deeply cynical look at the entanglement of irresponsible corporations and the Blank Generation.
