A member of a New York City vaudeville troupe inherits property in Las Vegas and, upon arrival, is thrown in jail for bringing livestock into Nevada without a license. THe livestock consists of a crate of pigeons—trained birds with which one of the girls does her variation of a fan dance. Upon release, they learn the property is a ramshackle building, but decide to make a nightclub out of it. Hitting the jackpot in one of the casinos provides the needed money…but many, many complications ensue.

Stanley Wright (Wheeler) and Aloysius C. Whittaker (Woolsey) are a couple of lazy ditch diggers who decide to take ditch digging to the next level, as it were, by responding to an ad for “scientific excavators.” They find themselves headed to Egypt as part of an archaeological dig, headed by Phillip Browning (Frank M. Thomas) and his daughter Mary (Barbara Pepper). Browning actually plans to return artifacts uncovered during a previous trip, because many scientists involved in that dig have already died due to the tomb’s “curse.” Mystery men are following our heroes around in their Cairo hotel, so Browning asks Wright and Whittaker to complete the mission should something happen to him. He gives the boys instructions and a map to the infamous tomb, which turns out to be the setting for the film’s predictable climax.

Also at the casino are Miss Furst and her niece Ruth, who loves aviator Billy, but Miss Furst wants her to marry the Baron. But the Baron is only after Ruth’s money. Miss Furst is very interested in contacting her late husband and hires Bird, especially after he helped her getting back her purse that was stolen by Julius. The Baron teams up with the Gypsies, after he noticed that Ruth and Billy are secretly engaged and has her kidnapped. Anita, who followed Sparrow is also taken back to Mexico. Billy, Bird and Sparrow start of to Mexico on their separate ways to free their girls, but it’s not so easy, especially when staying at a hotel with some strange other guests and very careful gypsy guards.

Bert Wheeler and Robert Woolsey play a couple of broke, hungry vaudevillians who are holed up in a hotel room with a few (tame) lions. They are hired by a movie producer who wishes to send them and their lions to Africa with a great naturalist, in order to make a jungle picture. An earlier expedition by this same naturalist was a failure, because she is afraid of animals. They all head to Africa and the lions are not mentioned again. Once in the jungle they have to fend off the amorous advances of the naturalist, of a vine-swinging native girl, and of a gorilla. They then run into the fearsome Amazon tribe, made up entirely of nubile females. Eventually they disguise themselves as Amazons to avoid being “loved to death.” But these disguises lead to further difficulties when the all-male tribe of Tarzans show up for their annual mating ritual with the Amazons.
