Prince Valiant (1954)
Young Prince Valiant, son of the exiled King of Scandia, journeys to Camelot to become a knight at King Arthur’s Round Table. He hopes to help his father reclaim his throne from the pagan usurper Sligon and restore the Christian faith to their homeland. On his journey he stumbles on the mysterious Black Knight plotting with the Viking pretender to overthrow Arthur. Barely escaping with his life, Valiant encounters Sir Gawaine, a friend of his father’s who tutors the young Viking in the skills needed to be a knight. Valiant and Gawaine’s pupil/mentor relationship is complicated by their romantic involvement with Princess Aleta and her sister Ilene, daughters of a British nobleman. If Valiant is to restore his father’s throne and prevent the coup d’etat against Arthur, he must uncover the true identity of the Black Knight.

Captain John Smith (Anthony Dexter), returned fom the Jamestown colony, is telling his story before the Court of King James I (Anthony Eustral.) He tells of the unrest in the colony and how he set out to make peace with the Indians. He is captured and sentenced to death, but Pocahontas (Jody Lawrence) makes her celebrated intervention and, instead of a slaying, there is a wedding. Back at Jamestown, Smith makes efforts to keep the colony united and the Indians from attacking, in spite of the efforts of some in the colony who stir up trouble for their own gain. He exposes them and returns to England to give his report. He stays because Pocahontas, thinking he is dead, has remarried.

Railroad fireman Bill White is a carefree ladies’ man with an irresponsible streak. His buddy Jack Kulper, an engineer, is more solid and reliable. When Jack confronts Bill about his suspicions, the two fight and Jack is seriously injured. Bill is consumed with guilt and tries to make good, but Jack has his own ideas about that.

Nonetheless, Diabolik is the “hero” of the film because he must face off against bumbling cops and revenge-seeking mafiosos.

A school crossing guard reprimands the PTA president for careless driving. He is later dismissed from his job on the basis of an anonymous note accusing him of being too friendly with little schoolgirls. His daughter’s boyfriend takes up his cause, assuming that the PTA president sent the note out of spite. It turns out that the note was sent by a woman living across the street from the school, who knew the guard from another city, and feared he would expose her past life. Story is told with the same incident repeated from several different viewpoints.
