Nico Palmieri is a police inspector who battles against hoodlums terrorising a sleepy Italian village, extorting cash from the locals. With the threat of violence, no one dares to act except a restaurant owner who approaches Palmieri and sings like a canary. As a result, his young daughter is raped. Discovering that the terrorism is related to drug dealers, Palmieri is forbidden to continue investigating his case by his superior – so he goes it alone. Palmieri recruits men who have become victims of the crooks and the film ends with a bloody massacre. Bullets fly and blood spatters the screen.

In December of 1969, four months after Woodstock, the Rolling Stones and Jefferson Airplane gave a free concert in Northern California, east of Oakland at Altamont Speedway. About 300,000 people came, and the organizers put Hell’s Angels in charge of security around the stage. Armed with pool cues and knifes, Angels spent the concert beating up spectators, killing at least one. The film intercuts performances, violence, Grace Slick and Mick Jagger’s attempts to cool things down, close-ups of young listeners (dancing, drugged, or suffering Angel shock), and a look at the Stones later as they watch concert footage and reflect on what happened.

The line between fantasy and reality is once more blurred in this Belgian/French drama about a professor of literature who develops an obsession with a beautiful woman he meets (or imagines meeting) in the woods. He has an affair with this woman, but before he can run off with her, his daughter, who is an object of his incestuous desire (as several daydream sequences make clear), kills the stranger. Perhaps, though, his daughter only kills his daydreams when she gets married.

César’s jealous outbursts and attempts at cunning backfire and send Rosalie into David’s arms. César keeps trying: he buys Rosalie’s childhood seaside vacation home as a gift, wins her back, then must ask David to join them so Rosalie will be happy. When Rosalie discovers César and David’s complicity, she again asserts her freedom, leaving the men alone together.

One night when seeking his estranged wife, Hoffmann goes to the youth center where she works. He awakens with brain trauma, partially paralyzed and unable to speak. The police accuse him of stabbing an officer; the radicals herald him as an innocent victim of police brutality. During his slow recovery at the hospital, Hoffmann must piece together his life and struggle to remember the events of that night.
